Mike's Shawarma - Online Ordering Photography in Newmarket
This project was completed for Mike's Shawarma, a popular shawarma restaurant in Newmarket, Ontario, with a strong presence on food delivery and online ordering platforms. Unlike a printed menu or an Instagram feed, images used on online ordering panels have one specific job: to get a customer to tap "add to cart" within a couple of seconds of scrolling past.
For this reason, the photography approach focused heavily on clarity, appetite appeal, and consistency across the full menu. Each shawarma wrap, platter, and side was shot from an angle that shows the ingredients clearly, with bright, even lighting that reproduces well on small phone screens, where the vast majority of online food orders are placed. Consistent backgrounds and framing across every item were also a priority, since a mismatched, inconsistent-looking menu can quietly hurt conversion rates on delivery apps.
Restaurants that upgrade from phone snapshots to professional photography on their ordering platforms typically see a noticeable lift in order volume for photographed items, since customers are far more likely to order a dish they can clearly see and evaluate. As a Toronto-area food photographer working with restaurants across the GTA, Feriphoto helps shawarma shops, cafés, and quick-service restaurants build image sets specifically optimized for how customers actually browse and order food online today.
